We’re writing to you not just as a group of volunteers, but as fellow members of this community, people who care deeply about our village and its future.

The Golden Lion is still closed and empty, a quiet reminder of what we’ve lost. A place that once brought us together now sits empty, but we believe it doesn’t have to stay that way.

​

That’s why we’ve come together to bring the Golden Lion back. Not as a private business, but as something much more powerful: a community-owned pub and hub, run for the people who live here, our growing community, and all that come to visit.

This is more than bricks and mortar. It’s about connection, belonging, and pride in our village. It’s about creating a welcoming space where everyone feels they have a stake, whether it’s for a pint with friends, a book club, a coffee morning, or simply a warm seat on a rainy day.

We know that trust matters. So here is our pledge to you:

• We will be open, honest, and transparent in everything we do.

• We will listen carefully to the voices of our community and always strive to represent the wishes of the majority.
